2018/2019 EC (Executive Committee)

The new Executive Committee for 2016/2017 was selected. All the nominees have attended mandatory leadership training sessions from as early as 8th grade. To qualify as a candidate in the election the learners must also supply proof of their involvement in a wide range of activities in the school.

Erewag vir sekretaresses

FOTO Nadia Hermann, Eileen Elbrecht, Charmaine Buys, Linda Badenhorst, Theresa Erasmus, Christelle Meyer, Liezel Hermann en Marlene Olivier. “Bly kalm en roep die sekretaresse”, weerklink inderdaad kort-kort in die Hoërskool Merensky-gange. Om dié rede het man en muis op Donderdag, 6 September, saamgestaan om hulde te bring aan die 8 super-sekretaresses van Plasieland. Vroegdag, met hul aankoms by die skool, is die groep verwelkom deur ‘n UK-erewag. Die leerders het hul waardering vir die ekstra myl wat die “tannies” stap, uitgespreek en elkeen met ‘n geskenk bederf. ‘n Spognoenmaal, geinisieër deur die onderwysers, is mid-dag in die Appetito Restaurant voorgesit. Spring has sprung

After a severe cold winter, spring was welcomed with open arms in the Tzaneen area. At Merensky High School, the executive committee went all out to set the stage during assembly. The Beehive formed the backdrop for a massive M, decorated with flowers. Wreaths, necklaces, face paint and a general air of jubilation welcomed the new season in a festive manner. An orchid was handed to Mr Mark Louwies, deputy principal, symbolising new beginnings and a happy spring. This was not the end, as scrumptious eats awaited the staff in the staff room.
