Merensky High School’s four houses set each other an athletics challenge on Monday, 14 January.

A neatly maintained Plasiepark hosted the multicoloured mass of participants, each of whom gave everything for houses Aqua (blue), Ignis (orange), Terra (green) and Ventus (yellow). Athletes and singers turned up in great numbers to properly kick off the 2019 athletics season.

Although many new records were set, the excitement was tangible when house Ignis, for the second year, reigned with 599 points on track and field. Ignis also boasted the best boys team (320 points), while Aqua’s girls won (311 points).

Plasieland is proud of Valley Ngobeni (u.15), Junior Victor Ludorum, Elandri Jansen van Rensburg (u.14), Junior Victrix Ludorum, Pieter Gouws (u.19), Senior Victor Ludorum and Kesia Pohl (o.19), Senior Victrix Ludorum.

Merensky is excited to host the Inter High meet on 22 February at Plasiepark.
