PHOTO Fumo Chabalala Eight Plasie chess masters made their moves at an exciting, new chess initiative hosted by Tzaneen Primary School on Saturday, 9 September. In order to improve players’ Limpopo ranking, five individual games were played. Themba Nkuna and Lunghuile Zandile competed in the 14-15 year olds category, earning 4 points each. In the 16+ category Kevin van Onselen and Louis Haynes also earned 4 points each, while Anya Glazer and Fumo Chabalala managed 3 points each. Danielle Theron earned 2 points. Tommies gets Plasiewhacked

It was a great day for Plasie sports on Saturday, 11 March. On the netball courts the Merensky girls reigned supreme with a total of 226 goals against 44 scored by their opponents. The Plasie first team made a hard game look easy with a final score of 37-12. Plasie chess players enjoy first moves

Eight chess players from Merensky High School travelled to Polokwane on 11 February to participate in their first friendly chess tournament of the year. Jeandré Joubert, Danielle Theron, Louis Haynes, Kevin van Onselen, Charney Rae, Kishan Patel, Francois Strydom and Wiehan Cloete gained valuable experience during their 5 games each.
