Marais nou no 1 in Limpopo

Marais Botha, ‘n graad 8-leerder van Hoërskool Merensky, het op 9 en 10 Augustus aan die Limpopo junior tennistoernooi in Polokwane deelgeneem. Dié opkomende ster (en nommer 1 seunstennispeler op Plasieland) het die o.14-seunsafdeling met gemak gewen. Marais sal aan die begin van Desember aan die finale proewe deelneem om in die provinsiale span, wat Limpopo by die junior SA’s gaan verteenwoordig, opgeneem te word. Merensky hou hierdie belowende sportman met verwagting dop.

2 Plasies off to tennis SA’s

Marais Botha and Franco Pretorius (u.14 boys) will represent Limpopo at the South African tennis championships from 26 to 29 April in Pretoria. They will play for the u.15 Limpopo team.

Plasie tennis girls at Big 5

Merensky tennis competed against 16 other schools at the Big 5 challenge at Nelspruit from 8 to 11 February. They played games against Garsfontein, Monument, Nelspruit and Ermelo High Schools. Ronel du Toit, Danielle Kasselman, Nina Grové (captain), Aimee Schoeman, Danielle Theron and Anke Venter improved on their individual games.
