The President’s Award Association at Merensky High School is excited about donating their first wheelchair on Friday, 7 September.

The wheelchair was received by Mrs Lindy Brits, a teacher at the school, on behalf of her mother, Mrs Karin Oosthuizen. Oosthuizen is suffering from avascular necrosis and needs to undergo hip replacement surgery. At the moment she is disabled, due to extreme pain and was therefore in urgent need of a wheelchair.

The President’s Award learners plan to sell ribbons to assist with funds for this operation. Contributions can also be made to the following account: WK Oosthuizen, ABSA Flexi savings account number 9342967660 with universal code 632 005. For more information contact Cornette Rautenbach at Across Brokers, (015) 307-6202.

The dynamic PA team are still collecting bread clips and plastic bottle tops to fund another wheelchair which can be donated to someone in our community. Join this endeavour and send all bread clips and plastic bottle tops to the school.
