Plasie peddlers excel

Janco Coetzee and Christelle Coetzer.

On Sunday 17 April two cyclists from Merensky High School participated in the Polokwane Mayoral Cycle Race.

Janco Coetzee showed his mettle by winning the 15km race, whilst super athlete
Christelle Coetzer also took first place in the u.16 girls race over 45km. Due to age limitations, Janco is not allowed to compete over 15 km, as he still is too young.

These two athletes will compete in the Central Gauteng and Tshwane Triathlon’s Duathlon championships at Germiston Lake on 23 April. This interesting event consists of a 2,5 km run, 10 km cycling and again a 1,25 km run. Should they do well, they may be chosen for the SA championships which will take place in Bloemfontein during the July holiday. Keep it up, the Plasies are right behind you!
