Merensky High School’s rugby players attended the yearly rugby prize giving and dinner on 30 October in the hostel dining hall.
Merensky rugby management awarded each player a special blue certificate for their effort and participation during 2015.
A standing tradition at Plasieland is for the first team to select one player who they think played the best rugby for the year. This year’s award went to Rasenge Kubayi.
Johannes Seerane, an old Plasie and new teacher at Merensky, was the guest speaker. He told the boys that if you believe in yourself and work hard, you can achieve anything in life.
This prestigious evening was, as always, a huge success and the Merensky coaches and players are looking forward to the 2016 rugby season.
