Plasie Doran like a fish in the water

Doran Kleynhans, a grade 9 swimmer from Merensky High School, will be participating in the level three swimming championships to be held from 18 to 22 March in Port Elizabeth. He qualified with an excellent time in the back stroke.

Merensky hosts two events at new municipal swimming pool

Merensky High School was honoured to host two galas at the new municipal swimming pool in Tzaneen. After a decade of not having the privilege to compete in a 50m pool, swimmers from nine schools enjoyed the pristine new pool on two consecutive days: firstly the top schools meet on Friday 16 October and the Limpopo swimming championships on Saturday 17 October. Townies rule at Plasieland gala

As tradition dictates, the annual inter house gala at Merensky High School took the form of a heated challenge between hostel learners and those who live in town or the surrounding areas. This years’ gala took place on Wednesday 16 September with sunny weather after cold conditions over the weekend. The staff astonished one and all when they claimed the spirit trophy, once again showing that age is only a number. In the girls section the hostel won with 209 points to the towns’ 153. The town boys put a score of 263 on the board with the hostel boys scoring 155. The final score was Hostel 364 and Town…
