16 Merensky archers participated in the ABO Triple Crown Leg 1 on 3 and 4 February at Wildcrete 3D Archery Range.

Although the Pretoria sun was very hot, they had already made a good impression so early in the season.

Henk Meyer also shot a national qualifying score on day 2.

On 17 and 18 February, several archers from Merensky Agricultural Academy travelled to Thabazimbi to participate in the SANIFAA Field Event at the Bellville Archery Club.

Top archer, Henk Meyer boasts another gold medal after the event. Christiaan Loots took 4th place, Edrich Roos a 5th place and Nathan Swanepoel a 6th place in the competition.

Rouxne Schnettler shot a provincial qualifier.

Three of Merensky Landbou Akademie's archers took part in the SANIFAA Field competition at the Mopani Archery Club in Phalaborwa on 30 June, and performed excellently.

Christiaan Loots won gold, while Henk Meyer walked away with silver and Nathan Swanepoel received bronze.

This year Merensky Landbou Akademie's archers were invited on 26 and 27 July to the very first Interschools Archery Competition, at Hoërskool Waterkloof in Pretoria.

On day 1, the shooters were able to show their mettle on the indoor course, where Henk Meyer shot a national qualifying score. Many personal best times were also recorded for the day.

On day 2, the shooters were offered an opportunity to shoot outside. Thanks to @archersedge for the special rates! The Plasies did very and enjoyed participating with other top schools.

Four archers from Merensky Agricultural Academy participated in the GBS 3D Championship at the Klipspringer Lodge in Nelspruit on Saturday, 24 August 2024.

Henk Meyer, Nathan Swanepoel and Carli Smit won gold, while Zelke Kruger walked away with a silver medal.

The ABO Triple Crown Leg 3 is scheduled for 5 September 2024 in Pretoria.

Nathan Swanepoel, grade 9, participated in the Mpumalanga Provincial 3D archery competition at the Gold Valley Gun Club outside Nelspruit, over the weekend of 14 September.

A very challenging course and steep terrain awaited Nathan. He was the only shooter who shot un-aided and still achieved an excellent score of 175. He even kicked dust in the eyes of quite a few shooters, who were using rangefinders.

Says Nathan: “It was a great shoot in a beautiful area!”
