On 10 February, the first Limpopo XCO mountain bike event took place at Stanford Lake College. A number of Plasies competed and achieved good placings so early in the season.

Well done to Sophia van Wyk in grade 11 who took a 1st place in the Junior Girls division. Anke Roodt in grade 12 was right behind her claiming a 2nd place. In the Youth Boys division, two 10th graders, Aeden Anderson achieved 5th and Wernich Steyn an 8th place. Xihlovo Mkansi in grade 9 secured a 15th place in the same division. Two 8th graders, Ilana Lubbe and Amelie Pretorius finished 3rd and 5th respectively in the Sub Junior Girls division.

The Limpopo XCO series consists of 4 events where riders collect points to qualify for the Limpopo XCO team.

A number of mountain bikers from Merensky Agricultural Academy showed their mettle at the Mango Mania challenge held on 16 February in Hoedspruit.

Despite the scorching heat top performer Anke Rood in grade 12 took 1st place in the Junior Girls division. Two promising 8th graders, Ilana Lubbe and Ziante Steyn came 3rd and 4th respectively in the Sub Junior Girls division.

Wernich Steyn (grade 10) came 5th and Xihlovo Mkansi (grade 9) 8th in the Youth Boys Division. Plasieland's two grade 11s, Marnu Lamprecht and Niko Coetzee, were respectively 4th and 9th in the Junior Boys challenge.

A record number of 52 teams of 2 entered the annual interhouse MTB event which took place on Wednesday, 17 July 2024 at Merensky.

The competition took place in relay form, with laps of 1.2 km.

The mixed team winners of the day were Sophia van Wyk and Jan Pretorius. JP Botha and Zander Knoetze emerged as the boys team winners, while Layah Peterson and Chantené van Wyngaardt were the girls team winners.
