Twenty aspiring bronze and silver President’s Award programme participants from Merensky High School, undertook a hike in Magoebaskloof from 11 to 13 August.
The group kicked off at Broederstroom hut and hiked almost 18 km to the Dokolewa Pools, where they spent their first night.
On Saturday morning, the bronze participants hiked 8 km to finish their journey. The silver participants continued for another 15 km to their overnight facility at Seepsteen hut. On Sunday they completed their requirement for this adventurous journey after their final stretch of 16 km to De Hoek hut, via the Debegeni Falls.
